The Wild West was fully deserving of its name as it was being explored and settled by the adventurous young American families who were willing to work long and hard at building themselves a home.  Keep reading to follow a series of Old West photographs which emphasize what life was like at the time.

Imagine what it may have been like to not just see the Shoshone Canyon and Falls for the first time, but to photograph it so others could enjoy it as well. A member of Clarence King’s Geological Expedition took this picture in 1868 at the Idaho geological site.
